Doom Patrol season 2: Glee’s Samantha Ware joins DC Universe show
By Monita Mohan
A new cast member has been announced for DC Universe’s oddball superhero show, Doom Patrol, as Samantha Ware is set to guest star.
We’re going to get to know Crazy Jane even better in the second season of Doom Patrol, the DC Universe live-action show about a group of reluctant superheroes. ComicBook.com reports that Samantha Ware, known for her role as Jane Hayward on Glee, has been cast as one of Crazy Jane’s multiple personalities. Ware’s talents go beyond acting – she can also sing and dance, skills that she’ll hopefully be bringing to the show.
Jane, played by Diane Guerrero, has an underground network of several superpowered personalities in her mind. We met several of her 64 personalities in the first season of Doom Patrol, including Hammerhead, Silver Tongue, Karen, and more. When those personalities manifest in Jane in the real world, they are played by Guerrero.
However, as we saw in episode nine ‘Jane Patrol’, several of those personalities look different when we meet them in the network. Could Ware’s guest casting mean that Jane will be spending more time inside her own head?

One thing to keep in mind from the season one finale is that Jane seemingly took a metahuman ‘cure’ or ‘dampener’ to prevent herself from getting out of control. But considering how vibrant Jane’s many personalities make her character, one can assume that the showrunners will be heading back into her mindscape.
Alongside Guerrero, the main cast of Doom Patrol includes April Bowlby as Rita Farr/ Elasti-Girl, Matt Bomer and Matthew Zuk as Larry Trainor/ Negative Man, Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/ Cyborg, Brendan Fraser and Riley Shanahan as Cliff Steele/ Robotman as well as Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder/ The Chief. Abigail Shapiro will be joining the cast as Caulder’s daughter Dorothy. There’s a possibility that Alimi Ballard’s Joshua Clay will also return to the show.
There is no confirmation yet on when Doom Patrol season 2 will be released. DC Universe have only confirmed that the show will air later in 2020.
