3. Zarrko the Tomorrow Man

Hardcore Marvel Comics fans know Arthur Zarrko as one of Thor’s oldest villains. Although, Tomorrow Man debuted in 1962; the time-traveling evildoer didn’t catch fire. After all, Zarrko didn’t have that interesting of a story.

Zarrko was simply a mad scientist from the 23rd Century, hellbent on conquering the world. Zarrko built himself a time machine to travel through time in search of conflict since his time period didn’t have any. However, it was later revealed that he was actually trying to save the world from a version of Thor.

This hidden motive makes him more complex and a perfect antagonist for Thor: Love and Thunder. Imagine Christian Bale taking on a character whose somewhat promising history still lacked a little depth and restoring that depth, ultimately making him into something more.

Zarrko’s lack of mainstream popularity gives writers and Bale the freedom to explore the characters in ways he’s never been explored before. It’s a unique choice but one that makes sense. Why not use a time-traveling super villain for our viewing pleasure?

After all, the Snap forever changed the MCU. Thanks to the events that transpired in Endgame, time travel exists in the MCU. So, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine a character like Arthur Zarrko making their live-action debut; so why not have Bale play him?

Furthermore, it’d certainly be interesting to see time travel introduced in a different way. We’ll get to see it with Disney Plus’ Loki; reintroducing it into the MCU via their Phase 4 movies could open up many possibilities.
