Thor Love and Thunder: 5 villains Christian Bale could play
1. Gorr
Gorr is the villain ideally suited for Christian Bale. If you want to see what Bale could bring to a live-action Gorr; look no further than American Psycho. Imagine Bale bringing similar mannerisms and darkness to Thor: Love and Thunder. No, Gorr isn’t a classic Thor villain but he is legendary despite his Marvel Comics debut only coming as recently as 2012.
Gorr burst on to the scene with a tragic backstory filled with death and disappointment. He felt betrayed by the Gods of his world who, by his accord, failed to answer his prayers. He watched his mother die and his wife and child suffer, and his blasphemous behavior got him kicked off his planet. While voyaging, he watched a god fall and Gorr picked up the weapon.
The result saw him became a god himself, and a symbiote would eventually bond with the weapon, giving him power beyond his wildest dreams. In the comics, he’d go on to kill Gods across the multiverse and even defeated Thor himself on occasion. Gorr would also use time travel to conquer the gods.
Gorr is an enemy that could make Thor: Love and Thunder a different type of film. Adding him would capitalize on the horror that’s expected with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Of course, he doesn’t have to make the film a straight horror but a thriller of sorts – giving the heroes a different type of villain to fight. What better way for Gorr to make his MCU debut than to have Christian Bale playing him?
