Could another surprise CW crossover be in the offing? New images from an upcoming Legends of Tomorrow episode hint at the possibility.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow remains one of the quirkiest Arrowverse shows out there, even more so since Matt Ryan joined the team as John Constantine.

Constantine has added a supernatural element to the Arrowverse, but he’s not alone as a master of the dark arts in the roster of The CW shows. There are other occult-focused series, one of the most popular being Supernatural. So, what’s the connection between these shows?

Up till now these shows belonged to completely different universes, but new images from the ninth episode of Legends of Tomorrow season 5, “Zari, Not Zari”, show Legends leader Sara Lance leaning on what looks like Dean Winchester’s Impala, Baby, with Charlie and Constantine alongside her.

We can see the car boot open with recognizable sigils inside and the number plate, CNK 800. Could this mean that the Arrowverse is boldly bringing more universes under its umbrella?

During the epic 2019-2020 Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths, we saw that the multiverse included DC Universe’s Titans, Doom Patrol, Star-Girl and Swamp Thing, plus Smallville, Birds of Prey, Lucifer and the Batman show from the 1960s.

Constantine himself was absorbed from the failed NBC show of the same name and now he’s become a fan-favorite. It’s within the realm of believability that if Constantine knows Lucifer, he’s likely to also know of the great Winchester brothers. This may explain why the Legends are hanging out with Baby.

More from Arrowverse

As tempting as it is to assume that there’ll be an episode-long crossover between Legends of Tomorrow and Supernatural, there’s one aspect of the image that implies that looks could be deceiving.

The decaying body in the boot looks like a mannequin, similar to the ones we would expect to see on the set of a show. Perhaps the Legends have stumbled onto the Supernatural set and will be meeting Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki! Considering post-Crisis Zari is a famous influencer, we can imagine she gets invited to all sorts of cool places, including show sets. Still, an exciting prospect even if it isn’t a full-blown crossover.

The final season of Supernatural returns on March 16. Catch Legends of Tomorrow every week on Tuesday.
