6. Bane

Voiced by: James Adomian

Bane wasn’t as deep as the other characters ahead of him. But, by Hera’s sword, he was funny.

The first time Bane spoke you couldn’t help but laugh. The creators really made him sound like Bane from Dark Knight Rises – proving that they knew their audience. Whoever thought this up knows that his voice was ridiculous and that people would embrace what they were doing. Not only was the voice mocked, they also poked fun of Bane wanting to blow everything up. He did use a lot of explosions in Dark Knight Rises. Here, he continuously said, “I’ll blow this thing up” under his breath. And the rants! One of them he went so long he ran out of breath. It was hysterical.

They made Bane look like the most incompetent villain in history. In the comics, however, he may be one of the most capable and complete villains in the DC Comics universe – a strong, genius level strategist, and an incredible fighter. But here, Joker intimidated him (even though Bane would likely eat Joker alive given the opportunity).

Yes, Harley Quinn made him a joke – but an intentional one. Some people may not have liked it, but, considering the show, they shouldn’t be shocked. Bane was incredible. Hopefully we’ll see more of him. He’s too good not to. Who knows what’s next for him. In season 2 of Harley Quinn, maybe it’ll be Harley’s day of reckoning!
