8. Kite Man

Hell yeah! This was a personal favorite. Kite Man made his first appearance in 1960 in Batman No. 33. Batman fans may know him more from a recent series – he was a key part of Batman: The War of Jokes and Riddles. Yes, Kite man was important. Regardless of how crucial his part was,it wasn’t because of his toughness. Kite Man is a joke then and he’s a joke in Harley Quinn. It’s a role his character was created to play.
Kite Man played an extremely low level villain. So low that he was taking catering gigs and remained in his costume. His kites didn’t work in all weather conditions. None of the villains considered him a threat. Even his girlfriend (Poison Ivy) was embarrassed to be around him. Nonetheless, when the chips were down, he stepped up.
Kite Man was used as an example for people to not be judgmental. Ivy loved him no matter who he was. He wasn’t a smart man, a good fighter, romantic, didn’t give good good gifts, but he made her happy and he was there for her. That’s what mattered. When Ivy died, he couldn’t bear to be away from her so he moved in right by her grave. Morbid, but sad. Kite Man is certainly one of the best characters in this series. Hell yeah.
