6. Black Panther

I’m sure you’re scratching your head wondering how (other than having the term Black in both of their titles) does this movie relate to the upcoming spy film. I assure you, there’s a correlation. Black Panther is an iconic Marvel hero in the comics — just like Black Widow. Ryan Coogler’s film introduced fans to something vastly different from what we’ve seen in any MCU film prior to it. It was a spectacle with amazing visuals cool-tech and epic fight scenes and Black Widow can surely do the same.

We expect Black Widow to take us to a place that no MCU film has taken us before thanks to the vision of Cate Shortland; following in the footsteps of Coogler; making her blockbuster film debut in the MCU.  Like Black Widow, we were introduced to Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa before Black Panther’s solo movie. Thankfully, Coogler’s film wasn’t weighed down the origin story format. Instead, he was able to give the spotlight to different characters like: Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, and  Letitia Wright’s Shuri.

Similarly, based on what we’ve seen from the Black Widow trailer, like Black Panther, this will be about the people around Natasha more so than the hero herself. With Florence Pugh’s MCU introduction as Yelena, she could end up stealing the show just as Shrui did in Black Panther.
