2. Immortal Hulk
Funny enough, this is only the second of the comics on this list that is still ongoing as of the publishing of this list, and also the only one to be released monthly. What makes this series stand out among the others on this list though is it combines philosophy, body horror, Lovecraftian horror, conspiracy theories, and the Hulk.
When Immortal Hulk started, if someone had said that’s what this series would be, they would rightly be laughed at, but then swiftly proven to be right because this series is awesome.
It’s simultaneously terrifying and thought-provoking, and it carries an engrossing story. It starts as a relatively simple horror story and really dives into the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the Hulk, but it quickly becomes something much more.
This is a series about the afterlife, the cosmos, control, mental health, and so much more all in the guise of horror superhero comic. Every time you think that the series can’t get any deeper or scarier, the subsequent issue proves you wrong in almost every capacity. This series thrills with every issue and has its terrifying art, mostly by Joe Bennett, consistently carrying it forward.
This series is something special and completely worth the read.
