Riverdale’s fourth season has been full of twists and turns, but there are some questions that have bafflingly been left unanswered.

Few shows know how to pull the rug out from under its fans quite like Riverdale. The crime thriller-turned teen drama has been a regular part of The CW’s programming for a number of years now and during that time, it has seen the titular town fall victim to unexpected murders, a killing spree and even a villainous cult. The fourth season, however, saw the gang conquer their greatest challenge yet: Death itself.

Though Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge and Archie Andrews had just about convinced us that Jughead himself had been killed through a series of baffling flash-forwards, the latest episode “Chapter Seventy-Three: The Locked Room” revealed the whole truth – confirming that Jug had faked his own death (with the help of his friends) so that he could investigate and uncover the lies, secrets and mysteries of Stonewall Prep. And that’s exactly what he did, solving the decades-old crime and bringing most of the responsible parties to justice.

That episode ended with a surprisingly uplifting scene that wouldn’t have been out of place in a season – or, dare we say it, series – finale. But the mystery isn’t over yet, because with some episodes remaining, there are still a number of questions that Riverdale has yet to answer.

With the returning episode “Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town” almost upon us, let’s see what mysteries remain.
