When does Riverdale return to The CW for season 4, episode 17?
Riverdale’s fourth season is once again off the air, but here’s when we can expect it to return to The CW.
Riverdale is currently airing its fourth season on The CW. But the thrilling mystery series hasn’t been on our screens in quite some time.
Based on the Archie Comics series, this unique show is an unusual blend of detective fiction and teen drama set in the town of Riverdale as a host of unexpected murders, mysteries and mayhem unfolds. And when nobody seems to be able to do anything about them (or chooses not to), it’s up to the Riverdale High students to solve the crime.
A show that thrives on its ridiculously wacky plotlines, the fourth season has been arguably its most confounding yet, as long-standing character Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) was seemingly murdered by girlfriend Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart).

However, it was all a rouse as the crime-fighting duo and their best friends, Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) faked Jug’s death to reveal what the corrupt students of Stonewall Prep were truly up to.
Meanwhile, Archie himself has had to face the reality that his friends could be graduating without him – that is, until they all made the promise that this won’t happen.
The next episode, however, will see the students of Riverdale High tackle their next challenge: The variety show. The show’s annual musical episode, “Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town”, will see Riverdale take on the music of Hedwig and The Angry Inch.
Check out The CW’s official synopsis below:
"“Kevin decides to revive Riverdale High’s tradition of hosting a variety show; when Mr. Honey forbids Kevin from performing a number from “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” the gang rallies against their principal, each performing a song from the show.”"
The episode was initially expected to air on Wednesday, April 8, at 8:00 p.m. ET, but due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus shutting down production on the show (and a ton of other films and TV shows), it was delayed for another week.
With that, Riverdale will instead return to screens on Wednesday, April 15, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
