The Underrated Christopher Mintz-Plasse

Last, but certainly not least, we have Christopher Mintz-Plasse – an underrated but important part to both the Dave Lizewski and Kick-Ass characters. In his civilian life, Dave tried to befriend Chris D’Amico. Unfortunately, Chris’ bodyguards weren’t going to allow it, and they weren’t nice about it either. Chris (now as Red Mist) ends up fighting Kick-Ass at the end of the movie. A battle that can only be described as the most awkward fight scene in comic book movie history. Two guys who really don’t want (or know how) to fight attacking each other. It was, yeah, awkward to say the least. After Chris’ father is killed, Chris becomes a villain. His name is… something I can’t say on here. Just Google it.

The rivalry between Red Mist and Kick-Ass is not one for the ages. This isn’t going to be on anyone’s top ten. That said, it was perfect for this movie. This was all about two teenage boys who wanted to be noticed. For Chris it was his father – he wanted to be more involved in the family business. And after finding a way to help, he got what he wanted. He was the boss. Unfortunately, it was at the expense of his father.

Just like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, we should look at Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s role more pleasantly. He played his part perfectly.
