Harley enlists Catwoman to retrieve Firefly’s flamethrower from Dr. Trap in the latest episode of Harley Quinn. Too bad Catwoman and Poison Ivy have a past.

Previously, on Harley Quinn, Harley and Poison Ivy began their journey to take out the Injustice League. Their first target was the Riddler at Riddle U.

During their mission, they came across Barbara Gordon, and they really should be thankful that they did. Without her, they wouldn’t have been able to take Riddler down. This encounter gave Barbara the hero bug as she made a costume of her own and became Batgirl.

During the B-story, King Shark and Dr. Psycho fought their way through Two-Face and Bane territory to get a water purifier. Harley ended up not needing it and broke it.

Commissioner Gordon update: He’s living with his daughter Barbara and not wearing a shirt.

Poison Ivy geeks for Catwman

The next villain on Harley Quinn’s list was Mr. Freeze. Getting to him proved more difficult than they thought: His ice is barely dented by rockets, a flamethrower, and a grenade. Lucky for Harley, Freeze’s henchmen are morons, as they unwittingly told Harley and the gang exactly what to use to destroy Mr. Freeze’s ice: Firefly’s flame thrower.

The flamethrower was in a museum guarded by Dr. Trap (guess what his thing is), Harley had the brilliant idea of asking Catwoman for help. Unfortunately, Ivy has a bad history with Catwoman.

Despite the fact that the feline fatale did Poison Ivy wrong, Ivy remains a fangirl. She hangs on her every word and even lets her steal her jacket.

Seeing this was weird; Ivy is normally so strong and sure of herself. Here, she turned into a giggling school kid with wide eyes for the cool kid. Admittedly, Catwoman does look pretty cool.

Riddle me this, Dr. Psycho

The Riddler was still stuck in the hamster-wheel creating energy for the mall. However, while there, he tricked Dr. Psycho into getting him the means to escape. It wasn’t difficult, and for someone with mental powers, Dr. Psycho was rather easily manipulated. He let Riddler get into his head and became the direct reason why he escaped.

This allowed Psycho to attempt to be a leader by sending Harley’s crew on a mission to find Riddler. Unfortunately for him, this ended with Psycho being hit with a tranquilizer gun by Sy Borgman. And to top it all off, Riddler only did all of this because he was bored – so he eventually got back on the wheel all by himself.

This is undoubtedly going to be the second of more insults coming for Dr. Psycho. The first was in the previous episode where Harley broke the water purifier. Now, Riddler showed Psycho that he still isn’t ready for the big leagues. As a result, this could end up with Psycho leaving the gang to become his own leader and possibly even killing Riddler.

Catwoman helps Ivy get her groove back

Despite Catwoman getting into Poison Ivy’s head, she was right about one thing: Ivy hadn’t been herself. She wasn’t the defender of the green anymore. She spent the majority of her time helping Harley and not doing the things she loved. And so, after escaping the Dr. Trap’s traps, Ivy went back to doing what she loves: Killing people who harm the environment.

More from DC Universe

This was a fantastic development because Ivy needs to be more than just Harley Quinn’s sidekick. She should have her own missions. That doesn’t mean that the crew shouldn’t be involved, but she just needs more of her own moments. More missions might even mean new and different villains. Who knows who’ll be on the show next.?! It’s kind of exciting.

How was Harley?

In the beginning of the season, you had to wonder how they would stretch the narrative across 13 episodes if they were just focused on Harley’s revenge. Easy, you develop the characters on the way. Harley and Ivy are stars, but the rest of the crew are great as well.

Riddler tricking Dr. Psycho is going to lead to him leaving the crew to try doing things on his own. There’s also Riddler: He says he’s happy where he is, he also stated that he can escape whenever he wants. Both are true, but Riddler is too smart to be trapped. At some point, he’s going to escape. Sadly, this will probably end with someone dying. Probably Sy and later Riddler when Harley kills him.

Questions about Quinn

How long until Dr. Psycho turns on the team? Easy money says in two more episodes.

Does Poison Ivy actually get married to Kite Man (Hell yeah)? Probably not. They’ll get engaged and he’ll probably end up being killed during the wedding.

Is putting Riddler on an exercise machine a bad idea? Yes. Now he’s smart and getting stronger physically.

Will we see Batgirl? Give it a few more episodes.

Will Commissioner Gordon put on a shirt?! All signs point to no.
