New on DC Universe in May 2020: Watchmen, Stargirl among key highlights
The DC Universe streaming service will be adding some major titles to its library in May for your viewing pleasure, including Watchmen and Stargirl.
People all around the world could do with more escapism right about now, and the DC Universe is here to provide you with that. Alongside its library full of comic books, films and TV shows for you to enjoy, there will be a host of new titles arriving in May.
Naturally, the biggest release of them all will be Stargirl. The new live-action DC Universe series stars Brec Bassinger in the leading role of Courtney Whitmore – a young girl who discovers a powerful cosmic staff and learns that her uncle was a superhero before she ultimately inspires a new generation of superheroes to take the fight to villains of the past.
Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, Stargirl will debut with its pilot episode on Monday, May 18 before releasing a new episode weekly, with its sophomore offering “S.T.R.I.P.E.” streaming on Monday, May 25. On top of that, each episode will be broadcast the night after its debut on the home of DC’s Arrowverse shows The CW.
