The cast of the upcoming Cassian Andor series continues to fill out as a Star Wars alumnus joins the cast of the show.

In a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Genevieve O’Reilly and Denise Gough have been added to the cast of the upcoming Star Wars series focusing on Cassian Andor. The report also states that the series will be set five years before the events of Rogue One.

O’Reilly will be reprising the role of Mon Mothma, a role which she has portrayed in Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One, and Rebels. Gough’s role has not been revealed as of yet.

Gough has previously won two Laurence Olivier awards for her on-stage roles in Angels in America and People, Place, and Things. Having seen People, Places, and Things early in its run at the National Theatre in London, that award was well deserved. Gough also voiced Yennefer in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

This is not the only news announced in report though, as Tony Gilroy has reportedly also taken over as showrunner of the series from Stephen Schiff. Gilroy had previously been set to write episodes of the series, as well as directing at least one episode, but that has clearly changed for the co-writer of Rogue One. This promotion thus puts Gilroy in charge of a writing room consisting of Schiff, Beau Willimon, and his brother, Dan Gilroy.

This is the second casting announcement in a little over a week regarding the Cassian Andor series as Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller had recently been announced to be joining the cast.

Going beyond this series this though, there has been other Star Wars related news within the past week as well. It was reported that The Mandalorian is already in early stages of pre-production on season 3 and that a new series is being developed for Disney Plus by Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland.
