The Flash season 6: Grant Gustin promises answers as two major villains will return
By Monita Mohan
The Scarlet Speedster will battle the villains Godspeed and Pied Piper in an upcoming episode of The Flash season 6, which promises answers for viewers.
The Flash Season 6 has been chock-a-block with mysteries and changes. The season premiere kicked off with a Godspeed clone attacking Central City, but investigating the villainous speedster was put on hold when Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) life was in danger.
Following the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths, another old foe reemerged – Pied Piper/Hartley Rathaway (Andy Mientus).
Neither villain has resurfaced since, but that will change soon, Gustin told Entertainment Weekly. In the upcoming 18th episode, “Pay the Piper”, the Flash is going to unravel why and how Godspeed’s clones arrived in Central City, and he will also discover what drove Hartley to end his friendship with Team Flash.

Viewers will recall that Pied Piper first appeared on the show as a metahuman villain. Hartley was estranged from his affluent family, who disowned him for his sexuality and his metahuman powers. But following the events of Barry’s first real timeline change in Season 2, Hartley was a friend to Team Flash and a good guy. What made him change in a post-Crisis world? We will find out in episode 18.
Godspeed made a brief appearance in the fifth season of The Flash. He’s a speedster from the future, who uses science and stolen chemicals to boost his powers. The character has become something of a nemesis in the recent DC Rebirth comics, and fans are anticipating more of Godspeed on the CW show. While Godspeed posed a threat, his clones looked scarier than they were. We don’t know what created them, or why these creatures were unable to speak – they only emitted a high-pitched sound. Since Pied Piper has a way with soundwaves, the villains might be working together.
Now that the Speed Force is dead, leaving the Flash with diminishing powers and the evil version of Iris West (Candice Patton) determined to drain the last vestiges of Barry’s speed, the good guys may have to team up with the bad to save the day once again.
