This Sunday, a new episode of Supergirl airs on The CW. The long-running Arrowverse series recently returned to the network after a very long hiatus, and it’s back again with another offering.
Supergirl‘s fifth season has been airing since October and it’s really been quite the ride. Not only has Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) found herself dragged into the madness of Crisis On Infinite Earths, her and her team of Super Friends have had their hands full this year.
The evil Big Bads known as Leviathan have been a thorn in their side all season, but recently, the return of Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) has made things a lot more difficult. Lex, of course, used Crisis to manipulate the new world into thinking that he is a hero. However, he also shares a common enemy with the heroes in Leviathan.

Kara’s friendship with Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) has been more problematic than ever this season since the latter has turned her back on her former friend, aligning herself with her villainous brother.
The show won’t be able to complete its planned 22-episode run due to the fact that production in Vancouver understandably shut down earlier than expected due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, so this will serve as the season’s penultimate episode.
