10. Magneto

You can’t have a list of important X-Men characters and not have Magneto on it. He could be dead for years and still be important because villains and heroes alike would be doing things in his name. Ironically. this was one of the few times where Magneto didn’t die in the decade. What’s funnier is that he’s been a hero for most of the time as well.

After Cyclops created Utopia, Magneto came to praise him for everything he did. Cyclops and the rest of the X-Men were hesitant to trust him. To prove himself, Magneto spent days searching a mountain and meditating, using his powers to find the universe for the bullet Kitty Pryde was trapped in. After he found her, he was in a coma for a while. He recovered right on time to help protect them from Bastion’s Nimrod Sentinels.

Magneto had a decade full of moments like this. He seemed to always be in the middle of everything involving the X-Men. Now, he’s part of the Quiet Council of Krakoa. He will be responsible for making new rules that will affect mutants for the rest of their existence. If there’s anyone who’s willing to fight, kill, and die for the future of mutants, it’s the Master of Magnetism.
