X-Men: The 20 best characters of the last decade
By Mark Lynch
14. Old Man Logan
In this Logan’s reality (Earth-807128), everything is ruined. In this world, the villains ruled the over everything with an iron fist. Logan accidentally escaped that world looking for something over Doom’s wall (Secret Wars). In the prime universe (Earth 616) Wolverine is dead. Old Man Logan stepped in and took over his place.
It wasn’t easy at first. He had to get used to seeing his old friends alive and get over the fear of everything that happened in his old world taking place again here. Once he did, Logan became a crucial member of the team.
This Logan didn’t have the same berserker rage and he was wiser. It made sense. He was around a lot longer. After a short amount of time, Old Man Logan fit right in.
Old Man Logan’s adventures with the X-Men were similar to Wolverine’s. The main difference was he didn’t fly off the handle as often. He didn’t go off on his own and do things that may have put his team in danger. His biggest accomplishment may have been killing the Hulk in his world and Maestro in Earth Prime. On Logan and Maestro’s final encounter, Logan cut Maestro’s head off.
Old Man Logan finally died in 2019 back in his home reality (Dead Man Logan). Not before helping Danielle Cage become the new Thor and killing Sabretooth once and for all. Logan died a hero and started a revolution in the process. He was buried next to his family and finally had peace.
