DC Universe may be considering more original programming in the form of a Titans spin-off… in spite of rumors that the streaming service’s days are numbered.

Turns out that DC’s Titans may possibly, like its brethren, Doom Patrol, need to find its second home in WarnerMedia’s HBO Max as the end may be nigh for DC-specific streaming platform DC Universe according to Business Insider. However, as followed up in that same report, a Titans spin-off might in the works in spite of all that.

For now, DC Universe is expected to continue running content but its expected to be a small output. With Titans on a hiatus and Season 3 initially expected to hit during the fall of this year (though that could be all up in the air now), the forthcoming season could be huge for the service as it could lead to any kind of spin-off.

Now, if these rumblings are indeed true, it’s uncertain as to who (or what) the spin-off would consist of. That said, it wouldn’t be too far as a stretch to assume that it could potentially focus on both Hawk and Dove, starring Smallville alum, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly.

While the DC Universe streamer’s output may slow down at some point, according to a former Digital Labs employee, the feeling is that it “…is going to be around for at least another year or two…”, adding that there is “commitment and funding.”

However, even though a spin-off is being considered (hopefully this time in the same continuity unlike Doom Patrol) there is nothing really that has landed that is anything concrete that the studio executives are looking to develop yet and, again, they reportedly want to “keep it small”.

So, the other service at DC may hang in a while longer, but it’s sounding like it mightn’t be around forever.
