This Sunday, a new episode of Supergirl airs on The CW. The veteran Arrowverse series’ fifth season will conclude with its nineteenth episode serving as its impromptu season finale.
Supergirl‘s fifth season has seen Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) battle a multitude of different threats throughout the year.
At first, she found herself having to face off against the ancient techno-organic beings known as Leviathan. However, before she and her team of heroes at the D.E.O. could overcome them, they had to face the Arrowverse’s long-teased Crisis On Infinite Earths which literally merged their world, Earth-38, with Earth-1 (and who knows how many others) as the new Earth-Prime.

In spite of overcoming the Crisis, things got that much worse in the aftermath of it as Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) used both The Monitor and the Book of Destiny to rewrite reality so that he would be seen as a hero of the people (instead of the villain that he once was). And, in doing so, he capitalized on the fact that his sister Lena (Katie McGrath) had fallen out with Kara over the fact that she never revealed her true identity to her
Between the ever-present threat of Leviathan and the craftiness of the villainous Lex Luthor, there’s going to be a lot for the Girl of Steel, Alex (Chyler Leigh), J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood), Brainy (Jesse Rath), Nia Nal (Nicole Maines), Kelly Olsen (Azie Tesfai) and William Dey (Staz Nair) to overcome in the upcoming finale.
