2. Jessica Cruz: My Willpower

Most superheroes’ comic book origin stories begin with a tragedy. Jessica Cruz is no different. For her, it starts with her witnessing the death of her friends. Though she avoided being killed, Jessica ends up having crippling anxiety as a result and, a time one point, it got so bad that she wouldn’t leave the house. With that kind of fear, it’s shocking that she became a Green Lantern. That’s also what makes her so special.

Everything that Jessica Cruz has done is an inspiration to the heroes who know her. She went from being too afraid to leave the house to being a member of the Justice League. She’s fought in space and time-traveled and helped train the first Green Lanterns to learn how to use their powers. She’s been through a lot in such a short amount of time. Watching her become great has been amazing.

This would be an inspirational documentary. Jessica Cruz didn’t want to be a hero. She wanted to live out her days as a normal person. Fate had other ideas. Seeing her conquer her fears to become an exceptional Green Lantern is a story that everyone should know about. During the doc, Simon Baz would have nothing but kind things to say about her. He saw her become someone he’s grown to respect and admire.
