7. Iceman: Cool Like That

Robert “Bobby” Drake was one of the original five X-Men. He’s seen almost as much as any mutant. He was thrown into the middle of a mutant war. That would change anyone – especially someone who has a ton of insecurity issues. He didn’t know how powerful he was and at times he hated his powers, so he would make jokes to hide his feelings.

There was also the secret of his sexuality – which he kept from everyone. For years he would date women when he really wanted to be with men. That kind of emotional conflict and the pain it caused isn’t easy to get over. When he did, he became much more confident in himself and his powers.

A documentary could explore Bobby’s journey as an X-Man as well as his journey to finding himself. Even when his younger self came out to his older self, it wasn’t easy for him to admit it. Nonetheless, in the end, he was happy that he did.

There’s also the idea of what it was like being one of the founding X-Men and one of the first mutant superheroes. He was forced to evolve with the times and with different X-Men that joined the roster.

It would ultimately be a very interesting documentary that shows Bobby Drake as more than just the jovial Iceman. We’d get to see him as a person.
