Batwoman stars react to Ruby Rose’s shock departure
The news that Ruby Rose left Batwoman shocked us all, and now the stars of the show have reacted to her departure on social media.
To say that the news of Ruby Rose’s sudden departure from Batwoman caught us all off-guard really would be quite the understatement.
The actress had portrayed Kate Kane in the Arrowverse since her debut appearance in 2018’s Elseworlds crossover, appearing in one season of the character’s self-titled CW show, so her sudden exit left us all in shock.
With fans still attempting to process the reality that Rose won’t be taking part in the show’s second season – which is due to hit screens in January 2021 – some of the other cast members of Batwoman have taken to social media to offer their feelings on the matter.
Camrus Johnson posted a heartfelt message, reminding fans that there will be a second season and that it will be as inclusive as the first.
Johnson portrays Luke Fox on The CW series – the smart and savvy right-hand man of Kate Kane/Batwoman and the son of Batman’s right-hand man Lucius Fox. He’s been very interactive with the fans of the show since it first began back in October, so it’s nice to see that his faith in it hasn’t wavered during this unexpected time.
Fellow actor Nicole Kang – who plays Kate’s stepsister Mary Hamilton on the show – also took to social media to remind fans that she was thinking of them too.
Though neither actor explicitly mentioned Rose in their tweets, their tasteful and heartfelt messages were received very well by the fans, who were still processing the fact that the show’s titular character will no longer be played by Rose.
However, as Johnson reminded fans, it’s important to remember that the Scarlet Knight will be back as Batwoman season 2 is already a certainty.
