Harley kisses everyone to mask that she wants to kiss Poison Ivy in the latest episode of Harley Quinn season 2. Also, the gang visits Apokolips.

Previously, Harley Quinn, Harley and Poison Ivy were sentenced to life in prison. Instead of going to Arkham Asylum, they went to Pena Duro North Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility (or the Pit for short). They (obviously) escaped, but not before Poison Ivy had a real emotional breakthrough (proving that The Pit works). However, after Harley and Ivy got out of the Pit, they hugged and passionately kissed one another. Uh oh!

Meanwhile, Jim Gordon got his mojo back. His daughter Barbara revealed that she was Batgirl and that he was her inspiration. Gordon got angry, motivated, took the Gotham Police Department back, putting Two-Face in jail.

It looks like shirtless and depressed Jim Gordon is a thing of the past.

“I’m always kissing people!”

As “Inner (Para) Demons” opens, Harley finds herself pacing back and forth behind Poison Ivy until she’s asked to say something. She then  rambles at a thousand miles per hour and claims that she was being her normal crazy self and that she’s always kissing people. She then picks up Dr. Psycho and kisses him to prove it (Dr. Psycho is disgusted and says she’s not his type). They eventually settle on it being the adrenaline of escaping. Things move on and then Harley asks Ivy if she’s going to tell Kite Man.

As we all probably predicted, there was some awkwardness between Harley and Ivy. The creators did a tremendous job of making the awkwardness fit both of the characters’ personalities. Ivy was cool and almost emotionless while Harley was babbling and nervous.

More from DC Universe

The next time we see Harley and she’s trying to plan something. Things escalate when Batgirl shows up to inform Harley that Commissioner Gordon is coming after her. Harley is now revved up and ready to be evil! Also, she kissed Batgirl to further prove her point.

“But, you can call me ‘Gordo'”

Jim Gordon is getting prepared for his first day back as commissioner of the Gotham Police Department. His first order of business? Letting the president know that Gotham is safe again.. since he “single-handedly” took out the Injustice League. The president reminds Jim that Harley is still out of prison and, until she’s arrested, Gotham is still not part of the United States.

You’d assume the show would immediately get into what happened at the end of the previous episode. Nope, they made us wait a few more minutes. However, it helped move the story and the series along. We now know that Gordon will be setting his sights on taking care of the Harley Quinn problem.

Gordon is always a welcome addition. Listening to him describe Harley Quinn being active as a polyp was both weird and funny – and totally within this version of the character.

Interrupting Darkseid says what?

Harley Quinn takes Batgirl’s advice the wrong way. Babs wanted Harley to lay low, instead, Harley takes that as a reason to form an army. But where is Harley going to get an army? Dr. Psycho has the answer. They go to Apokolips and get Parademons from Darkseid! Yet another bad idea from Dr. Psycho because, when they arrive on Apokolips, they almost immediately regret that decision.

One thing this show has consistently done is make even the most serious of characters funny. They did it again here. While Darkseid is certainly one of the more humorless characters in comic book history, they managed to make him comical on the show. How? By not changing a thing about him. Darkseid is someone who needs to pontificate. He did that as he was continuously interrupting Harley Quinn and not getting her sexual innuendos. It was perfect.

Another incredible episode. Harley and her gang taking a trip to Apokolips was as entertaining as you’d assume it would be. As was Harley’s fight against Granny Goodness. A personal favorite was Poison Ivy telling off Kite Man’s parents. It needed to be said and it shows that Ivy is really into Kite Man (Hell yeah). This is definitely going to be an episode fans will rewatch… even if the ending is incredibly sad.

Quotes about Quinn

First off, Dr. Psycho crossed a line saying he’d kill a puppy. Second, no one will ever un-hear his comments about world domination.

Kite Man’s parents are just the worst. No wonder he’s so insecure.

Jim Gordon has a tattoo of Clayface’s hand from season one. And no one is surprised.

Another not so shocking moment, Jim Gordon has to have his tanks.

Dr. Psycho will not be missed from the crew. He just didn’t fit in.

Jim Gordon won! Well, not really.
