According to a new rumor, Batwoman season 2 will be killing off Kate Kane and introducing the Scarecrow in order to bring in the new Scarlet Knight.

Ruby Rose’s departure from Batwoman still doesn’t feel really for many fans of the Arrowverse show. Rarely does the single lead character ever depart a show after such a short space of time, but alas, that’s exactly what will have to have to happen in Batwoman season 2.

Following reports that confirm The CW series will be introducing a new character named Ryan Wilder to take over the mantle from Rose’s Kate Kane, it seems that the original Scarlet Knight is set to meet a tragic end.

How will Kate Kane leave in Batwoman season 2?

According to a new report from The Direct’s contributing insider Daniel Richtman, the show will introduce iconic Batman villain Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow as a villain. While that news is huge enough, the rumor also suggests that the villain will somehow be responsible for the death of Ryan Wilder’s mother – something that ultimately forces her to steal the Batwoman outfit and track him down.

To make things even more shocking, it’s also rumored that the original Batwoman herself, Kate Kane, will be killed off in the second season. As for how she will meet her end, it’s currently unknown.

It goes without saying that killing Batwoman on a show called Batwoman is certainly a bold move – especially when they could have easily explained away Rose’s departure with a recast. And it will undoubtedly rub a lot of fans up the wrong way. That said, if Wilder holds her own as the second Batwoman, then there’s a chance it could work.

Here’s hoping things work out for the better, because the show’s first season really came into its own as it went on.
