Shayan Sobhian, who plays Behrad Tarazi, is set to become a regular aboard the Waverider. The character has been promoted on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6.

Following a successful debut, Shayan Sobhian, who plays Behrad Tarazi, has been bumped up to series regular for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6. Arrowverse viewers got a glimpse of the actor as Behrad in the season 4 finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, before he became an official member of the team in the most recent season.

Sobhian’s Behrad took the place of the original Zari Tomaz (Tala Ashe), whose sacrifice in season 4 altered the timeline, thereby allowing her younger brother to live. In the new timeline, Behrad is the family’s totem-bearer and has been adventuring through time on the Waverider with the rest of the Legends. His sister Zari is an influencer and social media mogul who reluctantly joined the team partway through the season.

Behrad was a seamless addition to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Sobhian’s addition to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was seamless – the cast and scripts made it look like he’d always been part of the show, and Sobhian fit like a glove aboard the time-ship. Behrad has the kindness of OG-Zari, with the quirks and humour that suit the tone of the show and the team. Given what a major role he played in season 5, it was almost a surprise that Sobhian wasn’t immediately promoted to a series regular. It’s highly likely that the showrunners wanted to leave the audience in suspense about whether Behrad’s second death, at the hands of the Fates, would be permanent.

Behrad is the resident mechanical genius, fixing up the ship when Gideon needs an extra pair of hands. He’s also handy in a fight with his totem powers, is a pop culture nerd and is best friends with Nate Heywood (Nick Zano).

More from Arrowverse

Since the show relies heavily on pairing its characters up, one supposes that there’s possibly a romance on the cards for Behrad in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6. Strong hints were dropped that Behrad might be taking newest Legend Astra Logue (Olivia Swann) under his wing if she sticks around and that the two have plenty in common. Considering Zari 2.0 is together with John Constantine (Matt Ryan), it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if her brother has eyes for the other magic-wielder on the team.

When we last saw the team, Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) had bid farewell to her friends, OG-Zari had returned to the totem to protect Behrad and Captain Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) had been abducted by aliens! We are in for more goofy adventures when DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns in 2021.
