Kiki Layne isn’t a household name, yet, but she’s slowly making a name for herself. The 28-year-old rising star doesn’t have a lot of movies under her belt, but her roles thus far have been impactful. If the MCU wants a fresh face with exceptional talent, Layne is it.
She showed she’s a leading lady in the critically-acclaimed film If Beale Street Could Talk. At 28, Layne has a youthful appearance to play a young Ororo Munroe struggling to find her place. She also has everything you could want from the fierce unquestioned leader we know.
1. Teyonah Parris
Storm has a certain swag about her that Chi-Raq actress, Teyonah Parris, can bring to life. Take her character, Lysistrata in the movie Chi-Raq. She not only looks the part of a powerful figure, but she’s a leader of a movement that sets the tone for the critically-acclaimed Spike Lee joint. Parris held her own in a movie that featured greats like Angela Bassett, Wesley Snipes, and the MCU’s own Nick Fury Samuel L. Jackson.
She also impressed with her regular role on sitcom Survivors Remorse for three years and she was recently commended for her excellent performance in If Beale Street Could Talk. Yes, it goes without saying, but she’d make a great Storm.
