Doomsday

A lot of people shower the DCEU with hate as if all the early installments were bad movies. Man of Steel negates that argument. Henry Cavill was perfect as Superman and Michael Shannon as General Zod was flawless as well. What does all of this have to do with Doomsday? A lot.

Riddle me this readers: What happens when you take General Zodd’s dead body and sprinkle in the look from Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie? If you guessed something that should never happen, you’d be correct. We got a poor looking version of Doomsday and a rushed comic book story.

It doesn’t matter whether or not the final fight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was entertaining, we couldn’t stop looking at the terrible design. The Doomsday look from the comic books was intimidating. It looked like he was built for nothing but destruction and carnage. But that’s not what we got here.

Beyond that, the Death of Superman series should have been capitalized upon for little more than just a throwaway fight scene. During that series, Doomsday ran through most of the heroes on Earth and kept going. Here though, we got a 10-minute fight after Batman spent most of the film preparing to fight Superman.

Everything about this “Doomsday” was poorly executed. It seemed rushed and poorly planned. Sadly, the final product shows that this is probably accurate.
