More growth than most

You may have noticed a theme in each of these sections. In a word: Growth.

Kitty Pryde has done this more than most. Her journey began when she was just a bright-eyed young woman. As her story continues, we see that her naivety disappears.

Kitty went through a lot. She’s had to bury more than a few friends, teammates, and family members. She’s been tortured and watched as it happened to others. She once spread the ashes of the man she loved (Colossus) only to find out he wasn’t dead. Throughout it all, she’s managed to keep her head up.

Unlike Storm, Kitty shouldn’t start as a well-versed character. Part of what makes her great was watching her develop into the warrior that she eventually became. The same can be said for Tom Holland’s big-screen Spider-Man. Peter learning to use his powers and figuring out who he can become is the thing that makes his franchise special. It goes without saying that we could have that same experience with Kitty Pryde in the MCU.

One day, we should see Kitty Pryde leading the X-Men, but that can’t happen without showing her progress. We already know Storm and Wolverine’s stories; we don’t need to immediately see their origins. But we do need to see Kitty Pryde’s. It could be an inspiring tale as we would all get to see how she evolved from a runner to a fighter.
