Wolé Parks has been cast as The Stranger in the Supergirl spin-off series, Superman and Lois, but a new rumor suggests that he’s actually playing Supes’ most famous villain…

As per The IlluminerdiAll American actor Wolé Parks’ role in The CW’s Superman and Lois as “The Stranger” may actually be code for another, more famous, Superman villain.

Some had speculated that Parks’ role could be a reference to DC’s The Phantom Stranger, but this rumor suggests that he is in actual fact playing an alternate version of the Man of Steel’s most deceptive and sinister enemy. We are, of course, referring to none other than Lex Luthor.

The Illuminerdi previously suggested that Superman & Lois‘ casting call for “Sally Bunyan” was indeed a placeholder name for Lana Lang – something that was then confirmed when Emmanuelle Chriqui was cast in the role.

How can another Lex show up in Superman and Lois?

This actually isn’t that far-fetched, as it has been established that since the crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths, the multiverse beyond Earth-Prime still exists, it’s just a new one. This of course invites the notion that there is more than one Lex Luthor (aside from John Cryer’s Luthor from Supergirl), so this rumor is very intriguing.

We are yet to receive final castings from the team at Berlanti, Warner Bros. Television and company in regards to the other antagonist “Sebastian Saint”, but a second Lex Luthor is certainly an exciting possibility.

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Dylan Walsh, Alex Garfin, Jordan Elsass, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette and Wolé Parks. Todd Helbing, Greg Berlanti and Katie Aldrin are writing the series. Helbing is helming the series and serves as executive producer alongside Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns. Berlanti Productions is producing the series in association with Warner Bros. Television. DC’s revered power-couple will take flight in January 2021.
