Kite Man’s story on Harley Quinn season 2 wasn’t all laughs and Hell Yeahs. He went through a lot of heartache as well.

In the beginning of Harley Quinn, who would have thought that Kite Man and Poison Ivy would have gotten together (let alone be in love)? The sad part is we all knew this wouldn’t last. Besides the fact that comic book fans wanted Harley and Poison Ivy to be together on the DC Universe show, we all saw the signs.

A big clue was when the pair held hands after Ivy slaughtered businessmen for destroying the environment. It wasn’t just friendly; it was a foreshadowing of things to come. There was also that look they gave each other when Ivy was giant.

Despite knowing that the pair were destined to be together, it didn’t make the ending any less disheartening for fans of Kite Man. But, if we’re being honest, it wasn’t just the breakup that made us feel for Kite-Man – it was also his tragic backstory.

Kite Man is looked at as a joke. He doesn’t do himself any favors by being clumsy and calamitous. He doesn’t fit in with any of his peers. The other villains like Joker, Bane, and Penguin don’t respect him. But, in spite of all that, he has a huge heart. Too bad being caring isn’t a good trait when you’re in the business of robbing and killing. It’s probably why he got along so well with Harley Quinn and her crew. These are just a couple of things that make Kite Man’s story sad. What really does it, however, are the focus of these next two slides.
