Willem Dafoe

It probably wouldn’t be fair to let Willem Dafoe to play the archenemy of two of the comic world’s biggest properties  – looking at you, 2002 Spider-Man film – but with a sinister grin like his, Dafoe is just naturally a perfect villain wherever he goes. And with a grin like that, casting him as The Joker would make for the perfect casting – one that plenty of fans have been hoping will happen for some time now.

Not to mention, but beyond just previous experience and endeavors in the superhero movie genre, Dafoe joining the cast of The Batman would also make for a fun reunion between him and the film’s star, Batman himself, Robert Pattinson.

After all, it was just late last year that the two showcased some tremendous chemistry in The Lighthouse, a film which earned both men some noteworthy early Oscar campaign buzz.

We already know for a fact that the two actors work well together and their kind of chemistry should translate naturally into the equally Gothic world of Gotham. All things considered, casting Willem Dafoe as The Joker and pitting him against Robert Pattinson’s Batman just sounds like too much of a no-brainer to not at least try to bring to fruition.
