Batwoman isn’t her first major TV role

Because she’s such a fresh face, it’s easy to assume that Batwoman is Javicia Leslie’s first starring television role, which isn’t the case. You may or may not be aware of her previous roles, but that does not mean that her aforementioned hard work has not already taken her to some big places.

Right now, Leslie is coming off the heels of a recurring role on the CBS show God Friended Me. She starred there playing Ali Finer, the lead character Miles’ sister for two seasons until the show was cancelled this year.

Before that, she played Paris Duncan in the first two seasons – possibly returning for a third, if the show is renewed – of BET’s The Family Business, where she acted alongside Ghostbusters‘ Ernie Hudson and Golden Globe nominee Armand Assante.

Prior to both shows, she was a regular on all Black streaming service, Black and Sexy TV, where she either starred or appeared in the shows Chef Julian, Hello Cupid Reboot, and Broke and Sexy.

While starring in Batwoman isn’t expected to be a walk in the park for her, Javicia Leslie has experience taking center stage. We should all be confident that she’ll do just fine. Better, in fact. Much, much better than fine.
