Captain America sends heartfelt message to 6-year-old hero who saved his sister
Captain America himself, Chris Evans, has sent a special message to six-year-old Bridger Walker who saved little his sister’s life.
Chris Evans may have portrayed Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he took some time to send a special video message to real life hero Bridger Walker.
Brave six-year-old Bridger suffered serious injuries after he shielded his baby sister from an attacking dog on July 9. The German Shepard bit the heroic boy multiple times on the face and head resulting in him needing over 90 stitches. But he remained steadfast in his attempt to protect his sister, taking her by the hand and running to safety as soon as the dog released its grip.
Now, his aunt, Nikki Walker, has taken to social media to highlight her nephew’s incredible bravery and the response has been amazing, with Bridger receiving an outpouring of love from people online and it has even attracted the attention of a number of Hollywood stars… including a certain team of superheroes.
Captain America praises Bridger
Bridger is a major Marvel fan and after receiving messages from the likes of The Dark Knight Rises‘ Anne Hathaway and The Flash‘s Robbie Amell, he received a phone call from the MCU’s Spider-Man Tom Holland. The list of on-screen heroes he amazed, however, didn’t stop there.
His aunt revealed on social media that he received a special video message from none other than Captain America himself, Chris Evans, as she shared the video on Instagram. In the video, we can see Bridger – dressed in full Captain America costume – watching Evans’ message on his tablet.
"“Hey Bridger, Captain America here. How you doing buddy? So I read your story, I saw what you did. Now I’m sure you’ve heard a lot of this over the last couple of days but let me be the next one to tell you – pal, you’re a hero. What you did was so brave, so selfless. Your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you.”"
A heartwarming message indeed, Evans then revealed to the starstruck hero that he’d be sending him an authentic Captain America shield as a gift.
It goes without saying that Bridger is a true hero who put himself in harm’s way for his family – and that makes him a real Avenger. What a hero!
Thank you to Bridger for being a real hero! Share your positive messages for the six-year-old star below!
