While not all of The Dark Knight trilogy was perfect, we can’t deny that Christopher Nolan got these Batman characters very, very right.

Christopher Nolan, through the means of the Dark Knight trilogy, was able to successfully spin a sub-genre of superhero comic book movies that often was previously a niche art and turn it into a billion dollar investment. This was mostly due in part to how he took the medium and its material seriously in ways that had been unprecedented in Hollywood up to this point, with a star-studded cast of Oscar nominated/winning actors no less.

Both casual audiences and die-hard comic book fans appreciated his efforts, though as much as we love the trilogy, there are still some things which some of us are quick to criticize. I mean, most of us are still hung up on the whole “Robin” thing, right?

Nonetheless, the positives vastly outweigh the negatives and Nolan did an ample job at caring for characters. Speaking of which, let’s take a look at six characters The Dark Knight trilogy got right.

6. Ra’s Al Ghul

Making Ra’s Al Ghul and his story the main villain in the darker, serious Batman reboot – 2005’s Batman Begins – was an interesting choice on behalf of Christopher Nolan.

He wasn’t as well-known to mainstream audiences, but Nolan happily crafted the character in a way that made sense for the world he wanted to create.

The picture that Nolan paints of Al Ghul is aptly supported by a strong turn from Liam Neeson. It amounted to a strong villain who managed to offer a very strong start to the franchise.
