Believes in the dream

This could be the most important part of Cyclops’ personality. Cyclops has never been on any other team that hasn’t been related to mutants – mostly because the other teams don’t have the same goals.

The Avengers, Fantastic Four, and the Defenders all want to save the world and protect people who can’t defend themselves. The X-Men do all of this and fight for equal rights. Cyclops believes that coexistence is a crucial part of mutant survival. Cyclops believing in this goal is part of what makes him one of the greatest X-Men.

Cyclops has to be with the mutant cause 100%. Having him waver and be unsure about what he’s doing wouldn’t make fans happy. He has his moments where he doesn’t believe in himself, but never the dream. Sometimes the goal goes from protection to defensive, but he always believes that mutants and humans can peacefully coexist. If this isn’t the case in the movies, then it won’t work at all.
