Lady Deathstrike

Film: X2: X-Men United

Lady Deathstrike is one of Wolverine’s deadliest villains. She hated him so much that she turned herself into more machine than human. She can repair herself almost instantly and her claws can cut through flesh like it’s not even there. Logan and Lady Deathstrike have fought for decades and will probably never stop. The funny thing is that her grudge may not be justified. She thinks that Logan wanted the adamantium bonded to his bones. Depending on the writer, this may or may not be true. Regardless of the story, Lady Deathstrike should’ve been more than a throwaway villain for Logan to fight in X2.

Lady Deathstrike’s feud with Logan isn’t just physical. When she’s fighting him, she talks down to him.  She constantly insults and reminds him that she’ll continue to fight him until one of them is dead. Even then, she’d find a way to attack him from the afterlife! She’s that obsessed with killing him.

X2: X-Men United gave us a Lady Deathstrike that didn’t speak. Admittedly, the fight was cool. She beat Wolverine to within an inch of his life. Nonetheless, this should have been more than an intense physical battle. Their rivalry could have played a more significant role throughout the entire movie. Considering the Reavers were in Logan, that should have been where she was introduced. Having Laura kill her in Logan would have been reminiscent of her beating Lady Deathstrike in Messiah Complex.
