10 Marvel Comics movie and TV show characters with wasted potential

Storm
Film: Every movie she was in.
We’ve seen two versions of Storm in her cinematic history this far. First, she was played by Halle Berry in the first era of Fox’s X-Men franchise. During her stint, fans had trouble appreciating the character because she never reached her full potential.
Next, we had Alexandra Shipp, who appeared in the X-Men prequel films. Personally, this writer feels she was a much better Storm. The problem here was how she was used. Shipp wasn’t happy about it either. During an interview with Indiewire, she shared her thoughts on how she wasn’t given that much to do. When asked if she would be excited to join the MCU as Storm, Shipp said,
"“I would and I wouldn’t because Storm barely has anything to say as it is. I don’t know about [the other actors] but like we never talk. So it would be really nice if we weren’t piled into yet another jam-packed cast, in which you only see me in the back of the shot like f****** sasquatch.”"
You can’t blame her for how she felt. Shipp did a great job when she was given the opportunity to. The sad part is she wasn’t given much of one. She’d use her powers a few times, not say much, then repeat. That isn’t Storm. She’s bolder and much more important than this.
The creative team got this completely wrong. Storm could have been the best part of 20th Century Fox’s Marvel franchise. Instead, they dropped the ball. With the right actor and writer, Storm may have even enjoyed more success than any of the Wolverine movies, maybe even more than Deadpool. Right now, all we can hope is that Marvel Studios does a better job.
On that note, Alexandra Shipp shouldn’t be knocked for her role as Storm. She was so willing to play the part that she cut her hair for the mohawk. That is dedication. And again, she did great with what she was given. She just deserved so much more.
