Mr. Sinister

Film: X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2

Nathaniel Essex (Mr. Sinister) may be the biggest pain in the X-Men’s butts. He has this uncanny ability to win even when he loses. He’s been killed and somehow turns this into a victory. The only other person who can really boast something like this is Dr. Doom.

Mr. Sinister’s methods of experimentation always involve torture – even though he’s smart enough to figure out how to make his methods painless. He enjoys seeing his subjects in pain. This way he can see how they’ll react without having outside forces affect the outcome.

It would have been great to see him in a film. However, it wasn’t meant to be. 20th Century Fox’s Marvel team teased Mr. Sinister multiple times. Once at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse and again in Deadpool 2. So it appears that there were plans for him in the future. As you can see, it never happened.

The 20th Century Fox Marvel experiment is over. So we’ll never get to see if this could have been. Would we have gotten the pale-faced villain with a penchant for torture? Or would they have gone another route and done something that would have angered fans? Considering the past, it may have been a good idea that they didn’t go forward with this idea. Then again, maybe it would have saved the franchise.
