Legends of Tomorrow regular to make full-time return to the show in season 6

In case you were in any doubt, Olivia Swann will be returning to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 6 as a regular.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is known for its revolving door of comic book characters. One of the reasons the Arrowverse show works so well is because of its fearlessness when it comes to revamping its line-up every once in a while.

Thankfully, however, we don’t need to worry about bidding farewell to a certain Legend just yet because, as revealed by TVLine, Olivia Swann will be staying on in season 6 as Astra Logue.

Though there was never any suggestion that the actress wouldn’t be returning to the show, fans did notice that, in spite of the fact that Astra joined the Legends in the end of the season, it seemed like the character’s arc had been wrapped up.

Thankfully, this doesn’t seem to be the case at all, as executive producer Phil Klemmer confirmed that she would return in a regular capacity.

He also revealed that they had planned on doing so much more with her arc but that they simply ran out of time. Thus, that arc will seemingly be carried over into Season 6.

He added:

“When you saw the sorority episode, that was her first chance to sort of exist out in the world. You get to see that she’s got all these sort of hidden gears.”

Swann made her debut as the character towards the conclusion of season 4, when Astra – a woman who had been damned to Hell by John Constantine (Matt Ryan) – had matured in the pit and, shockingly, thrived. She was promoted to a regular in season 5 when Astra became one of the initial antagonists, but following the saga with the Fate Sisters, it soon became clear that there was good in the former villain.
