Stargirl’s first season comes to an end as its finale is upon us, but is Icicle Jr. about to help Courtney and the JSA take down his father? Our preview of “Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. Part Two”.

Stargirl‘s debut season comes to an end this week when the second part of its season finale, “Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. Part Two”, arrives on both DC Universe this Monday and The CW this Tuesday.

Stargirl‘s first season has seen Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) move to Blue Valley, Nebraska with her family for a fresh start, only to discover that the town is at the mercy of the villainous Injustice Society. Following that, she became the heroic Stargirl and, with the help of her stepfather Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), assembled a new iteration of the Justice Society of America.

The new JSA has proven to be a recurring thorn in the ISA’s side as the heroes have upended a number of the villainous organization’s evil plans. Unfortunately, once Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) awoke from his coma, their plans resumed and they were able to set their end goal in motion.

Now, with the villains in control of every adult in at least half of America, it’s up to the teen heroes of the Justice Society to save them in what promises to be an explosive season finale.

What will happen in Stargirl season 1, episode 13?

As the trailer highlighted, 12 weeks of animosity and vengeance will come to a head in the season finale of Stargirl as the Justice Society of America and the Injustice Society will finally collide in an all-out war for the fate of mankind.

Stargirl and her allies Yolanda Montez/Wildcat (Yvette Monreal), Beth Chapel/Dr. Mid-Nite (Anjelika Washington), Rick Tyler/Hourman (Cameron Gellman), Pat/S.T.R.I.P.E. and Justin/Shining Knight (Mark Ashworth) will collide with Jordan Mahkent/Icicle (Neil Jackson), Henry King Sr./Brainwave, Dr. Ito/Dragon King (Nelson Lee), Tigress (Joy Osmanski) and Sportsmaster (Neil Hopkins) – both in and out of Dragon King’s Lair.

There are a number of wildcards when it comes to that battle, however, as Jordan will, at some point in time, come face-to-face with Courtney’s mother Barbara (Amy Smart) – the woman he began falling for before he realized that she was Stargirl’s mom. This will lead to some kind of one-on-one battle with the Star-Spangled Girl who attempts to rescue her mother from his grip.

As for the wildcards? Well Cindy Burman/Shiv (Meg DeLacy) has been locked up in her father’s lair since her altercation with Stargirl a number of weeks back. As the trailer reveals, she does escape and collides with Courtney again, but will she have a change of heart after realizing that Brainwave killed her boyfriend Henry (Jake Austin Walker)?

The other next gen wildcard is Cameron Mahkent (Hunter Sansone). “Icicle Jr.” has no idea what his father has been up to in spite of the fact that they’re pretty close. He’s been strangely absent from the past couple of episodes, so could Courtney end up reaching out for him to help stop Icicle from killing her mother?

"PROJECT NEW AMERICA — As the Injustice Society of America come one step closer to accomplishing their mission, Courtney (Brec Bassinger) and the JSA face off with Icicle and the villains of the ISA."

With the fate of Blue Valley (and indeed half of the country) at stake, Stargirl and the JSA have their hands full… but, in spite of that, this is their chance to save everybody and prove themselves as legitimate heroes.

Rest assured, the season finale is going to be one heck of a ride.
