With its first season completed, fans are looking forward to Stargirl season 2, so here’s everything you need to know about it.

Stargirl season 2 is something we’re all very excited about. The show’s debut season entertained us all throughout the summer and now fans are eagerly awaiting the second offering.

The first season saw Courtney Whitmore chosen to be Starman’s successor – by the hero’s own Cosmic Staff would you believe – and quickly live up to his legacy as Stargirl. In doing so, she assembled her own Justice Society of America and built a new generation of heroes to combat the dastardly Injustice Society.

Stargirl season 2 premiere date

Stargirl season 2 premieres on August 10, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. Though the show arrived on DC Universe and The CW on May 18 and 19 respectively last year, things will be different this season because of its official move to the latter network.

It will air alongside the final few episodes of Superman and Lois before being paired with Supergirl‘s final season for the majority of its run.

Stargirl season 2 cast

As the heroes of Stargirl all survived the first season, we should all expect to see Brec Bassinger, Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington and Cameron Gellman return to their respective roles of Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl, Pat Dugan/S.T.R.I.P.E., Barbara Whitmore, Mike Dugan, Yolanda Montez/Wildcat, Beth Chapel/Dr. Mid-Nite and Rick Tyler/Hourman. We should also expect to see Meg DeLacy and Hunter Sansone reprise their roles as Cindy Burman/Shiv and Cameron Mahkent.

It’s unlikely that Neil Jackson, Christopher James Baker or Jake Austin Walker will return as Jordan Mahkent/Icicle, Henry King Sr./Brainwave and Henry King Jr./Brainwave II given the fates of their characters in the first season’s last couple of episodes.

The cast and crew of Stargirl have been able to return to Atlanta to start work on the second season. Filming has been ongoing for a number of months now so there is plenty of footage available if The CW wanted to release a sneak peek of season 2.

The CW unveiled the first trailer for Stargirl season 2 during the premiere of Superman & Lois, confirming that it would return in Summer 2021.

What is Stargirl season 2 about?

As Stargirl was just recently renewed and its first season has only finished airing, there hasn’t been any information released about the second season’s plot yet.

Rumor has it that the ISA villain Shade – who was conspicuously absent throughout the season in spite of being in the opening scene – will play a major role in the second season. Maybe he’ll be unhappy to hear that the ISA couldn’t execute their plan because of Stargirl and the JSA?
