Agents of SHIELD cast says goodbyes and thank yous prior to series finale
The Agents of SHIELD cast says their goodbyes prior to the series finale.
The Agents of SHIELD cast is saying their goodbyes and thank yous prior to the series finale, which airs at a special time on Wednesday, August 12 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
Technically the last two episodes, “The End is at Hand” (7.12) and “What We’re Fighting For” (7.13), got an epic last trailer that is quite cinematic in nature, which of course pulls at the heartstrings as viewers relive seven years of these fictional friends lives.
Most of these tributes have been posted across various social media platforms, though Bam Smack Pow research found most of them on Instagram.
The core main cast (Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Clark Gregg, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Jeff Ward, and Ming-Na Wen), along with showrunners Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jeff Bell, got to say their goodbyes and thank yous to fans in a very nice farewell video.

Many of these Agents of SHIELD cast tributes brought memories back from all seven seasons of the series, and some other moments like their Dubsmash war with the Agent Carter cast.
Bennet (Daisy “Quake” Johnson) took a video in July 2019 just prior to her first read-through of the finale’s script, and then another just afterward.
“In true Marvel fashion, we never really knew what would happen to our characters until we read the scripts,” she wrote in the caption.

“SHIELD SPAM,” Henstridge (Jemma Simmons) captioned a collection of behind the scenes photos from over the years, dropping a period after every letter for full effect. This includes Coulson’s episode as the Ghost Rider and getting dramatically stabbed for a posed photo with Mallory Jansen (AIDA).
Tancharoen also posted a bunch of BTS photos and videos, featuring a goofy cast shot, herself and husband Jed Whedon chilling in Lola (as showrunners, they could touch her), Bill Paxton and BJ Britt (John Garrett and Tripp), and FitzSimmons’ ocean rescue from the first series finale.
Clark Gregg (Coulson) chose to spotlight the Agents of SHIELD crew for all their hard work over the scenes.
“Boundless love and respect to all the artists and craftspeople,” he wrote, citing their at-times 14-hour days.
While not a huge social media person, Henry Simmons (Mack) posted a few days ago a shoutout to his co-stars from the 1980s-themed standalone episode “The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and The D,” though admitting he’d been meaning to post that for a month.
“All of them did a heck of a job on the episode, but more important they are all wonderful people. Just want to give them some love.”
