Evolution

Bobby Drake has been around for over 50 years. At first, he looked like a snowman. On the cover of X-Men No. 1, he’s throwing snowballs at Magneto. Think about that. Magneto, the Master of Magnetism is being attacked by something kids get hit with in the winter. Shortly after that issue, though, he could turn into solid ice. That was just the beginning of his evolution.

As time has gone on, he’s become more comfortable with his powers. He’s already an omega level mutant and he hasn’t even come close to his potential yet. Some of his feats include creating ice-clones that he can control, creating a worldwide winter, and literally freezing Hell. So, collect all of the, “When Hell freezes over” bets.

While it would be cool to see him make the change in a movie, Iceman doesn’t have to start off looking like a snowman. What we need is for Iceman to continuously get more powerful. The audience will appreciate watching him grow stronger as time goes on. It’ll be like they were part of him reaching his potential. It’s like Iron Man’s armor because each movie he had an upgrade. Whenever he did something new we’d go, “Wow. Iron Man couldn’t do that last time.” It’ll be the same with Iceman only with a little more character depth. Imagine how people will react the first time he makes his ice-clones.
