The Flash: 5 iconic DC characters who should join Batman in the film
Batfleck is back for a one-off appearance in The Flash, but he’s not the only one we want to suit up for Andy Muschietti’s film.
Warner Bros lit the comic book movie world on fire after the announcement that Ben Affleck would return as Batman. That’s right, after retiring from the role, it was confirmed that Affleck seemingly had a change of heart and will now return as the Dark Knight one last time in The Flash.
Don’t expect more than a one-off appearance for Affleck. Still, it’s enough to keep us geeked out, knowing Batfleck will join Michael Keaton’s Batman of another universe. Any fan of Flashpoint or DC Comics in general can get excited for what’s happening with the DCEU, thanks to Andy Muschietti’s upcoming Flash film. This could reset the universe in the form of a soft reboot. So the question is: Who else will join Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, and Ezra Miller? We don’t have the answers yet, but it’s fun to discuss.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s name comes to mind. For years, Morgan’s Thomas Wayne was rumored to appear as the Flashpoint universe’s Batman. Unfortunately, recent reports killed our hopes like Negan with Lucille. We still hope to see The Flash get the letter from papa Wayne and deliver it to Bruce like we saw in The Flashpoint Paradox. That would surely make for both an emotional and epic send-off for Batfleck. As of now, we’ll keep hope alive, but Morgan didn’t make the list.
Don’t look for DCEU villains or anti-heroes like Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke, or Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor either. To hardcore fans, it makes sense for them to appear in a movie about Flashpoint, since the duo are the heroes in the comic book arc.
However, recent reports slammed rumors suggesting The Flash will depict the Atlantean-Amazon War so they didn’t make the list. The same goes for the heroic Lois Lane who played a major role in Flashpoint, since there is no Atlantean-Amazon War in Muschietti’s The Flash.
Christian Bale was also left off the list despite being considered the greatest Batman since Michael Keaton — depending on who you ask. When thinking about realistic options Bale’s name makes little sense. There are, however, plenty of other DC characters who made this list.
