William Stryker

William Stryker hasn’t been portrayed to his fullest potential in the movies. In Marvel Comics, Stryker is more disgusting than we’ve seen on the screen. He uses religion to gain control over people and make them fight for his cause against mutants. All we’ve seen in the previous X-Men movies is that he was in the military and hates mutants.

Despite detesting mutants, he has no issues using them as he sees fit. He’s also okay with sacrificing humans if it means the destruction of mutant-kind.

Shia LaBeouf could play an angry religious leader and easily get under people’s skin. Picture Labeouf wearing a suit and banging on a podium as he’s preaching to his followers, or looking at Nightcrawler and saying, “You dared call that…THING–HUMAN?!”

It would hit people in a way they haven’t felt while watching an MCU villain. They’d hate him. William Stryker is easily hateable, while Nightcrawler is one of the kindest people in comic books. Speaking with such hatred for him him (or indeed any of the X-Men) would make the audience look at him in disgust.

It may seem an easy task, but not everyone can pull this off. LaBeouf is more than capable of making us hate the character and that would make his defeat that much more satisfying.
