T’Challa learns the truth about Killmonger from Zuri

One of Chadwick’s most powerful Marvel moments is when T’Challa confronts Zuri about Killmonger. It’s here that we learn more about N’Jobu – T’Chaka’s younger brother who we meet at the beginning of Black Panther. The upcoming Avenger discovers that his uncle had a son and that that boy is now associated with Klaue.

Boseman’s composure is one of a man who is sick of being lied to. T’Challa shows leadership by forcing Zuri to reveal the truth about the cousin the king never knew he had. He also learns about how his uncle was radicalized during his time in America which prompted T’Chaka to kill him in self-defence when he tried to kill Zuri.

Seeing the emotions flash across Chadwick’s face in this scene makes us feel a great deal for him. He’s been forced to see his father as his perfect man, when in reality, he was forced to kill his own flesh and blood and keep secrets because of that.

N’Jadaka exposed

Keeping one’s cool when dealing with someone as radicalized as Killmonger takes a lot of restraint. Boseman manages to show a lot of it, given the situation in the scene. Erik exposes his parentage to the council and meets his Aunt Ramonda and cousin Shuri for the first him here.

For someone in T’Challa’s position, it would tear them apart on the inside knowing that one wrong move could dismantle everything, including the respect of the council. While T’Challa was still processing the information himself, he shouldn’t have kept the information private. He should’ve told his mother what he knew when he found out.
