Chris Hemsworth reveals if Thor Love and Thunder is his final MCU film
Chris Hemsworth has been portraying the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for nearly a decade, and now he has revealed if his return in Thor Love and Thunder will be his final MCU appearance.
Chris Hemsworth has been amazing and entertaining fans for nearly 10 years with his performance as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has thus far appeared in Thor, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
He’s set to reprise the role in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, making him the first of the MCU’s original heroes to receive a fourth solo movie (both Iron Man and Captain America had their own respective trilogies).
That said, there was concern that this might be his final appearance in the role – something that was made all the more real by the fact that so few of the original Avengers are around in their former capacity. Turns out, however, that this might not be the case.
In a recent interview with Poland’s Elle Man, Hemsworth was asked about the possibility of him bowing out and he seemed to quash those rumors immediately, responding:
"“Are you crazy?!… [Thor] is far too young for that. He is only 1500 years old! This is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so.”"
Fans began speculating that the film would be a last hurrah for the hero considering the fates of the other two original Avengers and the fact that Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster was returning to become the female Thor. It’s nice to hear that it’s not and that Hemsworth does seem to plan on sticking around.
Hemsworth then went on to reveal that he’s very excited about the film after reading the script – a sign which bodes well for the film.
After Thor: Ragnarok, Love and Thunder is undoubtedly going to be a memorable ride.
