Marvel’s Disney Plus series She-Hulk has finally found its director and it’s a great choice.
Marvel has wasted little time making use of the Disney Plus streaming service as it has commissioned series for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki and the upcoming WandaVision – all based on characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Another MCU series it greenlit that we haven’t been talking about enough is She-Hulk.
Centering on attorney Jennifer Walters, the She-Hulk comic books saw the character receive a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner. This ultimately gave her the same green abilities that The Incredible Hulk possessed – the difference being that she could maintain her intelligence whenever she “hulked up”.
She-Hulk finds its director
Disney Plus’ She-Hulk series has been in pre-production for some time now, but it appears that things are finally starting to move forward for it. As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, the show has landed veteran TV director Kat Coiro.
Negotiations are still ongoing but if she agrees to direct, Coiro is expected to direct the pilot episode as well as a number of others throughout the season, while also serving as one of the show’s executive producers.
In spite of the fact that things are finally moving forward for the production, the show has yet to find its leading lady. Since its development was announced, fans have made it known that they’d love to see Alison Brie take on the role – something she has also spoken about recently.
Coiro has previously worked on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Dead To Me, Modern Family, Shameless, The Kids Are Alright and Brooklyn 99. She’s also directed a number of films, including Life Happens, And While We Were Here and the upcoming romcom Marry Me – which stars Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.
