With Marvel’s Helstrom set to drop on Hulu next month, the streamer has revealed some curious episode titles and synopses for the series.

Following the TV panel for Marvel’s Helstrom at Comic-Con@Home, there was a first-look trailer which the cast and crew first unveiled during the event, giving fans a sneak peek of what’s to come from it.

Hulu has now revealed half of the episode synopses for the upcoming Marvel show (H/T:  ComicBookMovie.com). The series, which is loosely based on Daimon Hellstrom, his sister Santana Hellstrom (renamed Ana in this series) and their adventures, has Paul Zbyszewski taking on the reins as showrunner and executive producer.

Check out the synopses and episode titles below and get an idea as to what we can expect from Helstrom.

Episode 1 “Mother’s Little Helpers”

"Daimon Helstrom investigates a possessed young boy in Oregon. Meanwhile, in San Francisco, Ana Helstrom stages an auction to expose a criminal. Disturbing events at St. Teresa’s cause concern as the siblings’ estranged Mother remains hospitalized."

Written By: Paul Zbyszewski. Directed By: Daina Reed.

Episode 2 “Viaticum”

"A horrific accident leads Daimon and Gabriella fighting to save a man’s soul, while a darker force attempts to stop them. Meanwhile, Yen’s relationship with his work takes a dark turn towards obsession, and a discovery leads Ana back to St. Teresa’s."

Written By: Blair Butler. Directed By: Anders Engstrom.

Episode 3 “The One Who Got Away”

"Daimon and Anna learn more about the destruction their father left in his wake. With Gabriella, they pay a visit to a potential victim and find themselves in deeper than they ever could have imagined. Hastings shocks Caretaker with a stunning revelation."

Written By: Marcus Dalzine. Directed By: Michael Offer.

From these episodes alone, there are some interesting Easter Eggs and characters from the comics such as The Caretaker – who actor Robert Wisdom is portraying. Gabriella Rosetti is a gender-swapped version of Gabriel the Devil Hunter and Louise Hastings is a professor and an adventurer of sorts from the comics who fought demonic forces alongside the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider and the Midnight Sons.

It also sounds like there are some allusions to the father of the Helstroms, Marduk Kurios, a high-level demon and one of the rulers of Hell who identified as “Satan.” In the Helstrom series, he is depicted as a serial killer, who impregnated their mother, Victoria.

Episode 4 “Containment”

"A demonic enemy brings together an unusual group. Daimon and Ana travel to San Francisco in search of Yen and an artifact that may help defeat the enemy. Ana tells Daimon about her extracurricular activities and Gabriella’s faith is attacked."

Written By: Sheila Wilson. Directed By: Amanda Row.

Episode 5 “Committed”

"Things are not what they seem as Mother’s health sharply declines. As Ana searches for Yen, Gabriella offers counsel to a student struggling to understand how demons live among us. Daimon makes a discovery that is truly a matter of life and death."

Written By: Matt Morgan and Ian Sobel. Directed By: Jovanka Vuckovic.

Marvel’s Helstrom stars Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon, Elizabeth Marvel, Ariana Guerra, Robert Wisdom, June Carryl and Alain Uy. Paul Zbyszewski is head writer of the series. Zbysewski, Karim Zreik and Jeph Loeb are executive producers. ABC Signature Studios in association with Marvel Television is producing the series for Hulu. Helstrom drops on Hulu Oct. 16, 2020.
